Across Indiana University’s campuses, faculty and staff work tirelessly to facilitate student success. This commitment is exemplified by our longstanding leadership in online education, which offers students high-quality programs to accelerate their achievement of bachelor’s and master’s degrees. With 13 IU online programs and specialties ranked nationally in the top 10, and still others rated highly among their peers, the 2023 U.S. News and World Report Best Online Programs rankings confirm IU's continued leadership in online education.

For a second consecutive year, the Kelley School of Business is ranked as the top online MBA program, tied for the nation’s best. Its Master of Science in Business (non-MBA) program is also ranked number one. Over 20 years ago, Kelley became the first top-ranked business school in the country to offer an online MBA program. Today, I am proud to celebrate its sustained reputation as the nation’s foremost leader and innovator in online business education.

The School of Nursing continues its rapid climb in the U.S. News Best Online Programs rankings. Its online Master of Science in Nursing program has ascended 39 positions in just three years and is now ranked 10th in the nation.

IU Online, which offers over 200 online degree programs ranging from certificate programs to doctoral degrees, tied for 21st among online bachelor's degree programs this year, rising nine spots from 2022.

Our School of Education at IU Bloomington now boasts three master’s degree programs nationally ranked in the top 10 and is tied for 30th among the nation's best online education master's programs, highlighting our continued efforts to train and retain the best educators.

This is just a glimpse of the many online degree programs now ranked in the top 10 or otherwise achieving prominence in U.S. News and World Report’s 2023 Best Online Programs recognition. I want to express my gratitude to our faculty, whose dedication to the quality of our online academic degrees results in national distinction and, most importantly, continues to drive student success.
