Build leadership and life skills. At IUPUI, you can get an internship at a Fortune 500 company just steps from campus, join a team that runs campus events, participate in ground-breaking research, or enjoy the best concerts, professional sports teams, and cultural experiences Indianapolis has to offer.

IUPUI’s RISE Initiative promotes transformative teaching and learning, focusing on four types of experiential learning opportunities to give you an edge—research, study abroad, service learning, and an internship or practicum. In addition to these real-world learning and leadership opportunities, you’ll find plenty of ways to get involved on campus and within the city.

The thrill of Jaguar athletics

The IUPUI Jaguars are Indianapolis’s only Division I college sports program. IUPUI student-athletes compete in 18 NCAA Division 1 sports in the NCAA Horizon League, including basketball, baseball, tennis, track and field, and golf, to name a few. When you’re not cheering on the Jags, you can participate in a variety of intramural sports leagues, including basketball, soccer, volleyball, and more.

Right from day one at IUPUI, I was able to get a job. I was able to get involved with the dance marathon here and get my job as an ambassador. I would say everyone has been so welcoming, and so friendly and I had a lot of opportunities just right from the get-go during Weeks of Welcome. I was able to step out of my comfort zone.
