High school and transfer students

You can apply to IU Indianapolis online in one of two ways:

While both of these application types are accepted, you should only submit one application. The materials needed and the review process are the same for both applications.

We strongly recommend you apply online, but you may also request a PDF of the application form to submit by emailing apply@iu.edu.

The priority deadline for fall first-year applications is June 1.

You’ll hear directly from IU Indianapolis about whether or not you’ve been accepted.

The timeline for admission decisions is typically 2–3 weeks after you submit all your application materials.

Fall semester

  • Priority first-year application deadline for maximum merit scholarship consideration: November 1
  • Priority first-year application deadline for consideration for admission-based and competitive scholarships: February 15
  • Priority first-year deadline: June 1
  • Priority transfer deadline: July 1

Spring semester

  • Priority deadline: December 1

Summer session I
