IU Trident

Indiana University is reshaping higher education by combining the superior quality of an IU education with the flexibility of online learning. From the beginning, IU’s online offerings have grown organically from the university’s highly ranked academic programs, creating an authentic IU experience that is accessible to students everywhere.

It’s Indiana University—online.

Building on 200 years of academic excellence

IU’s online programs and courses are developed and taught by the same internationally renowned faculty who teach on IU’s seven campuses. And when online students graduate, they earn the same respected IU degree as on-campus students.

Providing a platform for innovation

IU helps faculty develop innovative, engaging, and rigorous online learning opportunities by using a collaborative support model that brings together expertise and resources from across the university. Faculty are guided through every stage of designing and delivering an online course or program, from instructional design to course sustainability.

Teaching online can be more effective because of the data available on student comprehension and performance. I use this data to engage in regular and substantive interaction with individual students.

My professors got it that it’s not a face-to-face classroom experience. They got it that they needed to be attentive and responsive. They encouraged us to call and text. They were never rushed. They often followed up to make sure I understood.
