Germany is an economic, political and cultural powerhouse in Europe and the world. Employment opportunities for applicants with German-language skills are expected to grow well above average for the next 10 years at the state, regional and national level.
The Modern Languages faculty at IU Southeast are passionate about helping students reach beyond the ordinary. We offer small class sizes, personal attention, and frequent opportunities to interact with faculty and fellow language students, both in and out of class.
In addition to in-person programs in several languages, we offer an online Bachelor of Science in German, with your choice of two tracks:
- Genealogical Research and Cultural Tourism track. Unlock centuries of German genealogical records and original documents by pursuing the Genealogical Research and Cultural Tourism track. You'll refine aspects of the German language needed to understand the cultural and ancestral history of German-speaking nations.
- Science and Technical Communication track. Join the ranks of some of the most groundbreaking German scientists, engineers, and inventors with the Science and Technical Communication track. You will specialize your German for the fields of science and technology to improve your potential for international collaboration and communication.
In addition to helping you seek employment with American subsidiaries of German industrial and banking concerns, or vice versa, and boosting your chances of international placements in business and foreign service, your IU Online Bachelor of Science in German may give you a head-start in careers such as:
- Meeting, convention, and event planner
