Tio Savich earned his undergraduate degree in Mathematics from Earlham College as a Lilly Foundation Community Scholar, and a MAT from the University of Indianapolis through a Woodrow Wilson Teaching Fellowship. He taught dual-credit high school classes for several years in Indianapolis and also worked at Ivy Tech, coordinating tutoring services between campuses. He is pursuing a PhD in math education with a minor in Inquiry Methodology and is primarily interested in issues of equity, specifically how cultural assumptions about the relationship between math and masculinity shape teaching and learning in secondary and post-secondary math learning spaces.
