Elective Title: 93MI770 — HOSPITALIST
This rotation will provide students with the opportunity to investigate best practices in-depth high quality care in the inpatient setting. This rotation focuses on evaluation and management of common hospital based internal medicine pathology and inpatient medical consultations on surgical patients, clinical case conferences and expose the students to code blues and rapid response team as well.

- 1) Demonstrate appropriate triage of patients for Hospitalist Service and identify when specialty help is needed. (PC3)
- 2) Interpret and evaluate inpatient diagnostics and consultation by researching evidence-based practice and using clinical experience. (MK5)
- 3) Communicate the specific goals of hospitalization to patients, caregivers, and nursing staff with early implementation of Discharge planning. (ISC1)
