Elective Title: 49LA709 — SPORTS MEDICINE AND ORTHOPEDIC SURGERY
The course offers a wide exposure to Sports Medicine in a private Sports Medicine Center. Students will develop an understanding of athletic injuries to the musculoskeletal system and physical exam techniques. Students will be first assistant on surgical procedures. Didactic lectures are presented and research is available if desired.

- 1) Demonstrate and apply basic clinical skills, such as history taking, physical examination, and general knowledge pertaining to patient care (PC1)
- 2) Discuss the clinical diagnosis and treatment of sports medicine conditions (PC2)
- 3) Participate as first assistant during surgery (PC5)
