Chief of Staff to the President

Cindy Morse was named chief of staff to the president at Indiana University in July 2025. In that role, she manages the staff of the Office of the President and assists the president and other senior university leaders in oversight of strategic initiatives. She joined IU from Salesforce, a leading global cloud-based software company, where she held multiple leadership and executive positions specializing in operational improvements and customer success.

At Salesforce, she served as chief of staff to the chief operating officer; as COO of Slack, the company’s cloud-based communications platform; as chief of staff to the co-chief executive officer; and as senior director for Israel programs. In an earlier stint at Salesforce, she served as vice president for marketing cloud engineering operations and quality software delivery. Before that, she served nearly five years at ExactTarget, an Indianapolis-based developer of marketing and analytics software, including as director of global operations. She also was a global transformation consultant for Cheetah Digital, a maker of marketing and data solutions; and as senior director of client success for Emarsys, a cloud-based customer engagement platform owned by SAP.

She graduated from IU in 2007 with a degree in journalism, public relations and marketing. On campus, she was president of the Relay for Life cancer walk. She is a member of the 500 Festival Board of Directors.
