Monroe County issued a public health order, effective 5 p.m. July 17, requiring a face shield, face covering, or mask that covers the nose and mouth when in an indoor place other than inside one's own home or the home of an immediate family member.
A face covering is also required outdoors in situations where adequate physical distancing of at least 6 feet is not possible.
The order, which is in effect until further notice, covers the Indiana University Bloomington campus.
Effective June 1, 2020, all faculty, staff, students, contractors, suppliers, vendors, and visitors are required to wear cloth face coverings in all hallways, elevators, public spaces, and common areas, and when entering all IU buildings, in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19.
