Apr 27, 2016 - IU is slated to receive the 2016 Central Indiana Preservation Award for Continued Use from the Central Regional Office of the Indiana Landmarks Association.

The award recognizes the university’s continued use of the Goethe Link Observatory near Martinsville. The telescope was built in 1939 as the private observatory of Goethe Link, a noted Indianapolis surgeon and amateur astronomer. It was donated to IU in 1948 and is operated jointly by IU and the Indiana Astronomical Society.

Each year, Indiana Landmarks' regional offices recognize projects that exemplify preservation and stewardship of historic places.

Nov 20, 2015 - Samuel Robertson has been named the new Director of Facility Operations at IU Bloomington. Robertson served as Associate Director of Operations and Logistics for the University of Utah for the past six years, and brings with him a progressive and collaborative approach to management. He holds a degree in Facility Management from Brigham Young University’s Institute of Engineering and Technology. Robertson’s visionary leadership style and overall enthusiasm for engagement and collaboration with staff is a superb addition to the Bloomington campus. He will start his new duties in January 2016.
