RETENTION RATES

The following Persistence to Second Year figures provide summary data on what proportion of student cohorts return to the subsequent fall term. A cohort is comprised of those degree-seeking students, beginners or transfers, who are new to an IU campus in the fall or those who began in the previous summer session and re-enrolled in the fall. This cohort definition conforms to the standards required by various external groups for reporting purposes. A student's "home campus" is defined by their first fall semester enrollment regardless of intercampus transfer. Retention is defined as re-enrollment or receipt of a degree.
