AVERAGE FACULTY COMPENSATION


Average faculty compensation (salary plus fringe benefits) by rank and by campus for 1997-98 is shown in the table below. Faculty status is defined to include all individuals employed on a full-time basis for the primary purpose of instruction or research. Departmental chairpersons are included; all other administrators are excluded.
Compensation for fiscal-year faculty has been converted to an academic-year basis. For the Indianapolis campus, the School of Medicine has been excluded. Compensation for the Fort Wayne campus is for the combined faculty of Indiana University and Purdue University.
