Student Origin

Of Indiana University's enrollment of 98,545, 79 percent (77,2406) students at the time of admission were classified from the State of Indiana. All 92 counties are represented. Sixty-one percent of the in-state enrollment comes from ten counties: Allen, Clark, Elkhart, Hamilton, Hendricks, Johnson, Lake, Marion, Monroe and St. Joseph. All 50 states, Washington D.C., three U.S. territories, and over 125 foreign countries are represented in Indiana University's out-of-state enrollment of 17,220, 17 percent of the total enrollment. Students from California, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, New York and Ohio account for 54 percent of the total out-of- state enrollment.
