Credit Hour Enrollment

In addition to indicating a student's progress toward fulfilling degree requirements, credit hour enrollment in the aggregate provides an index of the institutional instructional activity. Credit hour enrollment for the fall semesters 2000-01 through 2004-05 is shown by campus in the table below.
For fall semester 2004-05 total credit hour enrollment was 1,115,164, surpassing one million credit hours for the seventh time with a slight decrease ( -0.39%) over last year, maintaining the new record.
Although the Bloomington campus headcount enrollment accounts for only 38 percent of total headcount enrollment, its share of the credit hour enrollment is 45 percent. The difference results from the large percentage of full-time students enrolled on the Bloomington campus.
