THE LIBRARIES OF INDIANA UNIVERSITY

The Indiana University Library System includes the 19 libraries on the Bloomington campus, the IUPUI campus, and the six other

campuses. As the largest library system in Indiana, it serves the faculty, students, and staff of Indiana University, all citizens of

Indiana, and scholars from around the nation and the world.

The chart below summarizes the number of books and bound journals held by each campus. As of June 30, 2003, the

6,588,084 volumes held by the Bloomington campus libraries made up 69 percent of the total system's holdings. The IUPUI

campus housed 17 percent of the entire collection, and the other campuses held 14 percent of the collection. Between 1997

and 2003, the holdings of the total system increased by 990,645 volumes, an increase of approximately 12 percent.
