STATE APPROPRIATION PER FULL-TIME EQUIVALENT STUDENT
               
State appropriation divided by the number of full-time equivalent student indicates how public support of the instructional mission
varies over time.  That indicator is adjusted for changes in the value of the dollar as measured by the Consumer Price Index.
For 2003-04, appropriation per full-time equivalent student is $5,826 for the Bloomington campus, a decrease of 1.7 percent
from $5,929 in 2002-03 in 2003-04 dollars.    
For the IUPUI campus, adjusted state appropriation per full-time equivalent student for the Health Division is $32,781, up 1
percent in real terms from 2002-03.  For the General Academic Division, it is $5,727, down 3 percent from $5,891 in 2002-03.
For the regional campuses, adjusted state appropriation per full-time equivalent student is $6,546, a decrease of 2 percent
from $6,688 in 2002-03.  The appropriation per full-time equivalent student for Purdue University at Fort Wayne is included
with the regional campuses of Indiana University.

NOTES:  The value of the previous years' dollars is based on the calendar year Consumer Price indices.  The  
  fConsumer Price Index or 2003 is 183.8, the average of the June and July 2002 indices.
