COMPARISON OF ROOM AND BOARD RATES
Academic year room and board rates for the most prevalent double room accommodation on the main campuses of the public Big Ten
institutions appear in the table below.  For the 2002-03 academic year, Indiana University's new student rate ranks six out of ten campuses.  The
new student room and board rate of $5,676 is $690 less than the highest rate of $6,366 and $744 more than the lowest rate of $4,932 at
Michigan State University.

2= 2001-02 rates may vary from last year's reports due to final rate decisions being made after the report was sent, variances in average food consumption or change in the number of weeks that comprise the academic year.
