THE LIBRARIES OF INDIANA UNIVERSITY

The Indiana University Library System includes the libraries on the Bloomington campus, the IUPUI campus, and the six other
campuses.  As the largest library system in Indiana, it serves the faculty, students, and staff of Indiana University, all citizens of Indiana, and
scholars from around the nation and the world.
The chart below summarizes the number of books and bound journals held by each campus.  As of June 30, 2002, the
 6,510,553 volumes held by the Bloomington campus libraries made up 71 percent of the total system's holdings.  The IUPUI campus
 housed 15 percent of the entire collection, and the other campuses held 14 percent of the collection.  Between 1996 and 2002, the
holdings of the total system increased by 977,736 volumes, an increase of approximately 12 percent.
