INSTRUCTION AND INSTRUCTION-RELATED SPACE PER FULL-TIME EQUIVALENT STUDENT ENROLLMENT

Of the eleven categories of room use, three are closely associated with student enrollment and teaching activities: classrooms, instructional laboratories, and study areas. Dividing the assignable square feet available in these three categories by the full-time equivalent student enrollment provides a very rough measure of intensity of use of instructional facilities. For all campuses, 11 square feet of classroom space is available per full-time equivalent student enrollment; 14 square feet of instructional laboratories; and 18 square feet of study areas.
