Senior Designer: UXI Interface - PA3It

Develops and applies user-centered design methodologies and agile development processes that includes consideration for overall usability of interactive software applications, emphasizing interaction design and front end HTML/CSS/JavaScript development. Demonstrates initiative, creativity, and innovation in the development of stable, maintainable, and efficient enterprise scale business computing solutions by collaborating with partners from various teams throughout the *Kuali and Indiana University communities on next generation community source software development projects.

Qualifications:
REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in human centered interface design, human computer interaction, graphic design, or related field and two years of professional software development experience.

Combinations of related education and experience may be considered at a 2:1 ratio.

Demonstrated proficiency of user interface design processes and methodology as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques, particularly as applied to web-based applications. Advanced knowledge of design and prototyping tools such as Axure, Balsamiq, Visio, Photoshop, or Illustrator; mid-level experience with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript; and familiarity with the technical considerations needed when designing for the web and mobile.

Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills; and strong customer service attitude as well as a positive, proactive approach to complex problem solving bringing original ideas and fresh approaches to each project. Ability to understand customer needs, motivations, and behaviors and translate them into actionable deliverables. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other designers and developers to envision and iterate concepts.

Preferred: Master.s degree; extensive programming experience in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript; proficiency in modern day frameworks similar to AngularJS and Twitter Bootstrap; leadership interest or background.
