Senior Systems Analyst Programmer - PA3IT

Under moderate supervision, participates in the development and support of the Enterprise Services Integration (ESI) Team's initiatives at Indiana University.

Serves as a key technologist in the ongoing development and evolution of the Kuali Rice ( middleware project and ancillary subprojects. Performs analysis, design, programming, documentation, troubleshooting, and support of systems for the Kuali community at large and for our installation of these components at Indiana University.

Operates effectively within a dynamic and agile team environment; and works collaboratively with groups at IU to deploy solutions that leverage enterprise level middleware components. Works as part of a team and demonstrates a high degree of self-initiative and commitment to expand skills and expertise through a variety of methods, including self-study, working/mentoring with colleagues, and both internal and external training.

REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field and three years software development experience working with large software projects.

Combinations of related education and experience may be considered.

Development experience in the Java programming language; knowledge and skill with relational database technologies such as Oracle, MS SQL, or MySql; and analytical, design, trouble-shooting, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and a positive customer service attitude including a willingness to learn new technologies, and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred: Experience with the Spring Framework, Eclipse, Apache Maven, and version control systems; experience with front-end web development tools including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and client-side libraries such as jQuery; familiarity with agile methodologies, unit testing, automation, and continuous integration; knowledge and ability to support high availability and high capacity web service technologies and approaches including SOAP and/or REST; ability to support Linux/UNIX-based applications that utilize the Tomcat servlet container.
