Senior Programmer Analyst - PAEIT

Work independently to provide specialized expertise and leadership for computer programming projects for IUS Information Technology and to its external customers. Design, write and maintain computer programs and database queries to provide functions and services in a Windows LAN-based environment. Design and conduct needs assessment and produce databases and other computer programs to automate and/or simplify tasks for users. Design and conduct needs assessment, conduct analyses, and produce reports based on student record information. Make recommendations for creating new information architecture, develop data retrieval strategies, and design and produce reports to support planning and decision support for the campus. Use multiple programming and query languages to achieve objectives. Design, write, and run database queries to retrieve information from IU data storage systems (IUIE) in support of academic and administrative units. Assist users in creating and running their own student information queries. Display a strong customer service orientation.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.

2 years computer programming or an equivalent combination of education and experience related to using SQL or other query language, Visual Basic, C++, C#, or Java J2EE. Desired experience includes SQL, C#, relational database structures, HTML, XML, and PHP.

Ability to program in a Microsoft Windows LAN-based environment. Training/experience with Oracle, SQL, Access, Excel, SPSS and/or other database/statistical software and information retrieval technology. Demonstrated ability to learn new computer programming languages and adapt to new information system environments. Capable of serving as a project leader. Demonstrated ability to set priorities and manage time. Strong communications skills, written and oral. Ability to work productively with colleagues and end users of differing levels of expertise. Proven orientation toward quality service.
