Senior Information Systems Specialist - PA3IT

This position manages, coordinates, administers and regulates all aspects of voice infrastructure with primary focus on the Conveyant PC Console systems, Windows Server Administration including building, maintaining, patching and backing-up servers used at both the Bloomington and Indianapolis campuses. Additional responsibilities include backing up the primary administrator for Customer Interaction Center (CIC), Messaging Interaction Center (MIC), Conference Bridge System, Fax Services, and IP Gateways. This position provides tier 2 and 3 support for Conveyant, CIC, MIC and voice conferencing and Fax service. Support includes designing, analyzing and troubleshooting complex call routing processes for the suite of voice features

Recommend and implement necessary upgrades, and work closely with Network Infrastructure Administrator (Layers 2/3), Installation and Maintenance teams (Layer 1), Exchange and Lync Administrators, as well as the other work groups internal and external to UITS, and local telecommunications vendors such as Interactive Intelligence to resolve major and minor service delivery problems. This includes regulating, monitoring, analyzing, and recommending applications and facilities, services, system security, and control procedures. Support the growth and expansion of the IU networks across all Campuses with regard to complex topologies, advanced IP routing issues, and performance and reliability goals. Design and develop voice applications to address complex call routing requirements. Support of all IU VoIP systems and all other peripheral systems. Also, schedule and monitor the performance of maintenance and operational activities such as server patching and administration.

Research, evaluate, and guide implementation of new and emerging voice technologies and advance applications. Research, evaluate and guide the implementation of voice security policy. Maintain existing web pages and applications and design new web pages and applications as needed. Maintain, enhance and create documentation of services as needed.

Qualifications:
REQUIRED: Bachelor degree in telecommunications, computer science, management of information systems or closely related field. Combinations of related education and experience will be considered.

Two years of experience in telecommunications technical services, web design, or database applications. Experience in the design, integration, installation, configuration and maintenance of voice and data networks. Experience with windows system administration.

Knowledge of IP networking at layers 1, 2, 3 of the OSI model to support the increasing number of voice over IP devices. Detailed knowledge of IP protocols such as TCP/IP, SIP, RTP, SRTP, TLS, MGCP, and LLDP are desired. Additionally, this position must also be familiar with Microsoft server operating systems and administration.

Excellent oral and written communication skills. Able to be self-motivated and analyze and solve customer problems. Ability to interpret reports and manuals. Good organizational and project management skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be responsive, energetic and take charge person.

Preferred: Knowledge of sequel server (SQL) and database applications and WEB design is also preferred. Knowledge of the architecture and administration of CIC and it complex advanced features such as skilled based routing, call recording and monitoring is highly desired. The ability to design special application via handlers within the CIC product is preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange messaging and Lync Server 2010/2013 is desired. Knowledge of Conveyant PC consoles is desired. Knowledgeable in advanced telephony and outside plant facilities in a campus environment preferred.
