Programmer/Analyst - PA2IT

Description and Responsibilities:

As part of the Open Science Grid (OSG) the position will support users, developers and infrastructure staff internationally. The position.s direct responsibility is to support high visibility scientific workflows that will have daily use by a diverse collection of research communities.

Duties and responsibilities: Under general supervision, this position provides support and consulting on high throughput computing systems. Troubleshoots build and test systems based on user reported issues and determine solutions. Track issues to resolution through ticketing systems. This position will analyze and correct problems with existing high throughput workflows. This position will be expected to assist with system integration, testing, and training.

Qualifications:
Required: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in computer science, information technology or related discipline, plus 2 years of experience in software support, system analysis, and information technology security is required. Three years preferred. Position requires experience in deploying and supporting applications in RedHat Enterprise environment, MySQL and relational database structures, and basic networking. Combinations of related education and experience will be considered on a 2:1.

Knowledge of high throughput computing concepts is essential. Candidate should have strong technical problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and enthusiasm for working in a team-oriented environment, and the ability to learn new languages and frameworks quickly.
