Interim Director, Instructional Media Services - PA4IT

Interim Director of Instructional Media Services - Advertisement for OLA This is an internal search . ONLY IU Northwest or UITS NW employees are eligible to apply. Indiana University Northwest is seeking to hire an interim Director of Instructional Media Services University Information Technology Systems.

Primary Role Direct and administer the operations of IU Northwest Instructional Media Services including the Instructional Media Center and Classroom Technology Services, and direct the activities of the staff. Develop short and long-range strategies and plans for system integration, design, installation, maintenance, and support of classroom instructional technologies. Consult, corroborate, and collaborate with campus administrators, faculty, and University Information Technologies on areas of instructional support, classroom technology, learning environment design, funding proposals, leveraged buying power, and cooperative ventures. Collaborate and coordinate with other campus and university-wide agencies providing support for technology classrooms. Actively participate in organization and campus-wide planning initiatives and the development of overall strategic plans for classroom technology services, learning environments, and the delivery of instructional media and support to faculty. Review and validate plans for new classroom construction and renovation of current classrooms. Plan, organize, set policy, establish goals and objectives; initiate personnel actions on hiring, promotions, and terminations. Construct operating budgets and monitor, verify, and reconcile the expenditure of budgeted funds. Maintain and cultivate relationships with regional campuses; specifically with the campus Media Center Directors, and relevant campus and faculty committees and task forces. Support the IU Northwest Information Technology department and coordinate the use of various technologies within the classroom and other campus locations. Qualifications:
5 years of related work experience and 2-3 years experience in a supervisory capacity required. Experience in presentation technology operations, client support, and video and multimedia production is required. Excellent interpersonal skills and oral and written communication skills required. Knowledge of analog and digital display devices and evolving technologies is essential. Knowledge of classroom design issues and other learning environments or meeting spaces designed to support use of presentation technology is necessary. Experience in financial planning and management, budget analysis, and project schedule development and management skills are critical and required.
