IT Education Online Training Specialist - PA3IT
Teach online training workshops and webinars focusing on a broad range of information technology topics. Design and develop related instructional materials and documentation, primarily for online delivery, based on customer needs analysis. Integrate 3rd party elearning content into training offerings. Facilitate and participate in the identification and provision of other training related services as appropriate.
The ideal candidate will apply extensive project management and supervisory experience in leading the development and improvement of new and existing online training services on a broad range of information technology topics, and will lead the promotion and integration of 3rd party elearning services into IT Training.s portfolio.
Provide technical support services to users of computing services and local support providers in departments in the form of direct consulting, departmental computing advising, skills instruction and course development, or documentation development and delivery. Competent to consult, train, or document IU computing systems, applications, and information technology services as used in teaching, learning, research, and administration. Work with little supervision developing plans and delivering services. Interview, select, train and provide direction and professional leadership to hourly consulting, teaching, and writing staff as well as junior (levels I, II, and III) appointed staff.
REQUIRED: Bachelors degree. Combinations of related education and experience will be considered.
Three years experience providing computing support to users via direct consultation, development and delivery of computing education, or writing user documentation. Extensive instructional delivery experience. Instructional and training materials development experience required, both for classroom and online (instructor-facilitated and self-paced) training formats.
Preferred experience: Previous professional work experience in the IT industry preferred. Project management experience preferred. Experience providing computing services and support in a University environment strongly preferred.
Required knowledge, skills and abilities: Knowledge and skills in Office and Adobe applications, web development, animation tools, Adobe Connect or similar tools, and audio and video production applications is strongly preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to interact effectively and courteously with a wide variety of members of the IU community at all levels of technical expertise. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
