Position Available: Instructional Technology Consultant
The IUPUI Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) seeks a part-time hourly employee to serve as an instructional technology consultant to faculty. This is a 20 hour a week position available immediately and is classified as a temporary. Work hours are flexible; Monday . Friday, between 8am and 5pm. Occasional weekend or evening hours may be required.
- Consult with individual faculty, departments, and schools on the effective use of instructional technology in classrooms and online;
- Assist faculty with development of online course materials (web, video, multimedia, etc.);
- Communicate effectively and professionally;
- Assist with CTL web development projects;
- Produce and edit CTL video projects;
- Assist with CTL programs;
Duties and responsibilities; these include, but are not limited to, the following:
Strong candidates will be able to demonstrate ability to effectively use instructional technology such as Adobe Connect, Adobe Presenter, Student Response Systems, Cloud Services, etc. Experience with video editing software (such as Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro) is essential. The candidates must be able to work well in a team environment, be detail oriented, possess problem solving skills and have experience working with a variety of software and platforms. Familiarity with the use of course management systems preferred. The ideal candidate will also have web development experience. Furthermore, candidates must be comfortable working one-on-one and in small groups in an instructional and consulting capacity. Organizational and interpersonal skills, including excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Strong customer service skills and professional demeanor are expected. The ideal candidate will have scheduling flexibility. Graduate or undergraduate students are preferred but all qualified individuals will be considered.
IUPUI's Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) is a partnership between Academic Affairs, University Library, and University Information Technology Services. The CTL is nationally known and committed to providing comprehensive support to faculty in their teaching through a wide range of support services in instructional design and development, instructional technology, and information resources. The members of the instructional technology unit work closely with the instructional design and development and information resources units to provide team-based support for faculty and academic departments.
