Position Available:Instructional Technology Consultant (Hourly)

The IUPUI Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) seeks a graduate or upper-division undergraduate student to serve as an Oncourse and instructional technology consultant to faculty. This is a 20 hour a week position available immediately. The pay rate is $12 per hour. Work hours are flexible; Monday .Friday, between 8am and 5pm. Occasional weekend or evening hours may be required. This is a grant funded position but may be renewable.

Duties and responsibilities; these include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Consulting with individual faculty, departments, and schools on Oncourse
  • Consulting with individual faculty, departments, and schools on the effective use of instructional technology
  • Developing and presenting workshops
  • Assisting with CTL programs
  • Perform Quality Assurance testing for Oncourse
  • Perform online testing platform migrations for faculty

Qualifications/Requirements: Graduate or upper-division undergraduate student. Familiarity with Oncourse or other course management systems preferred but not required. The candidates must be able to work well in a team environment, be detail oriented, posses problem solving skills and have experience working with a variety of software and platforms. Experience with video editing software (such as Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro) is essential. Furthermore, candidates must be comfortable working one-on-one and in small groups in an instructional and consulting capacity. Organizational and interpersonal skills, including excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Strong customer service skills and professional demeanor are expected. The ideal candidate will have scheduling flexibility.

The members of the instructional technology unit work closely with the instructional design and development and information resources units to provide team-based support for faculty and academic departments.
