Executive Director, REN-ISAC- PA5IT

The Research and Education Networking Information Sharing and Analysis Center (REN-ISAC) is searching for an executive director for the Bloomington campus of Indiana University.

Job Summary: Oversees all aspects of group's administration, staff, budget, and operations, and develops strategic objectives and action plans toward the ultimate goals of (1) providing services and information to member institutions so they can better defend their local technical environments. (2) Expanding membership and financial resources resulting in broader general benefit. (3) Contributing to the overall improvement of security in higher education; and (4) participating in the broader security profession by engaging in mutual cooperation and aid activities (e.g., CSIRTs).

Provides expert and executive oversight to developing and delivering appropriate security threat and warning products and services to a broad and diverse membership, from small colleges to research universities to medical schools to research organizations, and interacts with senior executives and officials of a variety of partner, supporting, member, and synergistic organizations.

Qualifications:
Required: Bachelor's degree, seven years of experience in high-level technology service management and planning, and experience in the following: higher education environment; various aspects of information technology, including user support services, information applications development, telecommunications and networking, systems management and operations, and/or data management systems; operating in environments where sensitive information is both handled and protected; and managing staff and budget. Demonstrated understanding of network and general technology security issues and threats, as well as strategies for detecting and protecting networks from security threats.

Preferred: Master's degree.
