Director, Learning Spaces - PA6IT

Work closely with the Associate Vice President and senior staff of University Information Technology Services (UITS) to articulate a vision for technologies to support next generation learning spaces at Indiana University. Evaluate and experiment with new and emerging technologies to support teaching and learning. Develop clear plans for the implementation of these technologies in general purpose classrooms, other formal learning spaces, as well as informal learning spaces. Develop and manage resources to enhance the use of information technology in teaching and learning and work to continually improve the support of learning technologies used by all members of the University community. Forge and maintain effective partnerships with academic and administrative units, libraries, campus services, and other organizations to achieve mutual goals.

A successful candidate should have an excellent working understanding of the technologies employed in developing and implementing information technology into teaching, learning, and support functions of an institution of higher education.

Qualifications:
Required: Master.s degree from an accredited institution, and at least 5 years of leadership experience in Information Technology. Experience in a large University environment is also required. Teaching experience is desired. A combination of related education and experience will be considered on a 2:1 ratio.

Proven management ability and outstanding personnel leadership skills demonstrated through a succession of increasingly responsible positions. Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to develop solutions to complex challenges and implement strategies that address needs. Excellent oral and written communications skills including the ability to deliver presentations and speeches to audiences of different levels and technology sophistication.
