Computer Assistant - SS0E (Two positions available)
Provides a wide range of tier 1 technical consulting to faculty, staff and students of the IU-supported community; and resolves entry-level problems which encompass all service areas within UITS and university-wide systems. As necessary, refers higher level problems to the appropriate supervisors and tier 2 staff; and provides technical support to applications for client support to faculty, students and staff. Documents and tracks calls received, and follows up with clients until a satisfactory resolution is reached; and updates internal and external knowledgebase documentation.
REQUIRED: High school diploma or GED and one year computer related experience.
Directly related work experience may be substituted at a ratio of two years of progressively more responsible experience for each year of education.
Knowledge of computers and a wide variety of software applications; demonstrated experience and understanding of computer operating systems; and basic knowledge of Windows and Mac desktops and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent problem solving and organizational skills; and good communication, customer service, and training skills including ability to work well with a wide range of people
Preferred: Familiarity with Indiana University central systems: Email, Oncourse, OneStart, IU List, networking, etc.
