This is administrative and clerical work performing a variety of non-routine tasks related to providing services to prospective and current students.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Provides information and guidance to current and prospective students, parents, faculty, staff, and others on policies relating to application procedures, admissions, registration procedures, financial aid, degree requirements, and academic progress. Assists individuals with the completion of various forms and documents. Responds to requests for information and disseminates materials related to academic programs and activities.
Oversees processing of applications and records for a variety of university programs, including admissions and financial aid; may make independent decisions regarding applications, following prescribed guidelines; handles some non-routine applications.
Maintains or oversees the maintenance of student files, records, and databases. May proctor exams, calculate GPAs, and post grades. Compiles statistics and data for various reports and surveys. May participate in course scheduling and making classroom assignments.
May conduct recruiting presentations, applicant interviews, and general information sessions. Coordinates special events for prospective students and their parents. May prepare, design, and develop content for recruitment materials, informational brochures, or newsletters. Oversees the distribution of such materials and coordinate mass mailings. Participates in market analysis. May maintain and update the program's or department's web pages.
Performs various secretarial support activities; prepares and proofreads correspondence, class materials, memos, and manuscripts; sorts and delivers mail; schedules meetings, makes visitor and travel arrangements. Maintains and inventories office supplies; places purchase orders. May initiate electronic documents and transactions.

Knowledge of University policies, procedures, and standards.
Knowledge of computer and database/word processing software
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to make presentations in front of groups.

Ability to represent the university and present a positive image to prospective students.
Ability to work well with wide range of people.
Education:High school diploma or GED.
Experience:Two years of office experience
