This is administrative work performing a variety of routine and non-routine tasks related to maintenance of employment information for degree candidates and school graduates.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Assists students in use of facility resources; advises students concerning resources and services; assists students in gathering more information on employment opportunities.
Maintains and updates employment vacancy files and data bases; analyzes job descriptions; and summarizes vacancy information for graduate use.
Coordinates and oversees on campus career days, job fairs, and other on-site recruiting programs.
Processes, maintains, and updates applicant files; matches applicants to positions.
Maintains potential employer data base for graduate use.
Schedules meetings between graduates and Career Development Specialists.
Provides secretarial support to office by answering calls, filing, relaying messages, distributing mail, and typing.
Compiles statistics and other information for use in preparing reports.
Verifies graduate credentials to potential employers.
Trains and supervises any temporary support staff.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of computer and database software.
Knowledge of standard office procedures and equipment.
Good communication skills.
Good organizational skills.
Ability to work with a diverse group of students, alumni, administrators, and employers.
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Experience: One year office experience.
