This is administrative and clerical work performing a variety of non-routine tasks related to the processing and review of applications for financial aid.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Compiles and processes financial aid applications ensuring they are complete and accurate.
Enters data from applications into system; reviews information for accuracy; and resolves any discrepancies.
Responds to inquiries regarding application policies and procedures and status of application.
Notifies students of decisions on applications for financial aid.
Maintains databases and files of applicants and awards and updates as needed to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Processes any change in status; updates files; notifies students of any changes.
Maintains awareness of, and documentation on, university and federal rules and regulations involving financial aid.
Compiles data for, and produces, any necessary reports.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of computers and word processing/database software.
Knowledge of financial aid regulations.
Knowledge of standard office procedures and equipment.
Good communication skills.
Ability to efficiently and accurately review detailed information.
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Experience: One year in office environment.
