Job Title and Grade: Library Technical Services Associate I / SSOD

Under direct supervision performs library technical services duties related to ordering and receiving library materials that require limited judgment in the application of policies and procedures.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Places, monitors, and ensures shipment of monographs.
Receives monographs, serials, and periodicals.
Provides basic bibliographic support for serials and periodical orders.
Completes, creates, and updates basic records in the Libraries’ system.
Maintains automated and/or manual records; compiles a variety of information and data for reports, studies, and other purposes following prescribed methods. Examines and verifies for completeness and accuracy.
Prepares periodicals for binding.
Trains Temporary employees.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of library procedures and resources
Ability to process detailed work with accuracy; strong organizational skills
Knowledge of standard office systems including e-mail, Internet applications, database searching, and working knowledge of computer and word processing/database/spreadsheet software
Good interpersonal skills
Demonstrated problem-solving abilities; ability to pay attention-to-detail and follow established guidelines
Good oral and written communications skills
Ability to effectively organize tasks and manage time
Education: High school diploma or GED
Experience: One year library experience
