JOB PURPOSE: 
This is administrative and support work related to the planning and implementation of seminars, workshops, conferences, musical concerts, alumni, development and/or marketing programs, educational programs, clinics, conventions, banquets or  high profile special events.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinates planning and implementation of a variety of events such as seminars, workshops, conferences, musical concerts, educational programs, clinics, conventions, banquets or high profile special events.

Plan and coordinate logistics associated with events.  Research services to be provided; housing, catering and food services, entertainment, transportation, audio/video equipment and media needs.  Coordinates on-site execution of event set-up and related activities.

Participate in event budget planning and development.   Monitor, verify and reconcile expenditure of funds.  Process invoices and bills; record transactions; prepare various reports and maintain event records.

Participate in design and oversee production of informational and publicity materials; press releases, brochures, posters, invitations, etc.  Implement marketing and promotional activities to publicize events; update websites.

Serve as liaison for guests, attendees, speakers and vendors.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of computer and database/word processing/spreadsheet software.

Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures.

Excellent communications skills.

Good problem-solving skills.

Good organizational skills.

Ability to work well with a wide range of people.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High school diploma or GED.

Experience: Three years experience event planning and coordination.
