This is administrative work performing non-routine research and administrative tasks related to the establishment of policies and procedures for departmental programs to ensure they meet University standards.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Conducts necessary research, compiles materials and information for departmental programs.
Prepares records of program activities; oversees and ensures the timely processing in and the delivery of required materials.
Reviews the procedures and policies involved in departmental programs; suggests improvements; and ensures that they comply with university standards.
Verifies the accuracy of all data and information used or generated by program; resolves any discrepancies or problems.
Analyzes data and information generated or produced by program; write reports and other written materials based on this data.
Coordinates meetings produced by program; manages logistics and other administrative matters including site selection, catering, speakers, entertainment, etc.
Responds to requests for program information by staff, students, and faculty; handles any necessary correspondence.
Serves as liaison for department; coordinates activities and exchanges information.
Provides budgetary and financial support assistance.
Develops and maintains complex files and data bases.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of computers and database/spreadsheet/ word processing software.
Excellent communications skills.
Problem solving skills.
Ability to accurately review and complete detail oriented information and projects.
Ability to take responsibility and function under minimal supervision.
Ability to work with wide range of people.
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Experience: Three years office experience including or supplemented by experience in administering a program.
