This is technical work performing a variety of routine and non-routine tasks related to the production and editing of audio materials.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Set up and operate facilities for recording sessions, either live or taped. Collaborate with producer to establish audio needs. Monitor and mix various sound sources.
Perform editing and post-production of audio material using computer workstations employing digital and analog support equipment.
Check and edit daily network recordings for technical quality and ensure correct playback info in database.
Produce and input all promotional material and underwriting.
Assist with installation and corrective maintenance of broadcast equipment.
Provide technical guidance to other staff.
Transfer recordings into mediums suitable for airing or archive. Provide duplication of recordings.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Basic knowledge to operate and maintain a variety of audio production equipment.
Ability to record, mix, and edit materials via digital audio work station.
Ability to evaluate the quality of recorded materials.
Ability to meet established deadlines with occasional fluctuations.
Good communication skills.
Good organizational skills.
Education: Associates degree in telecommunications, audio technology, or closely related field.
Combinations of related education and experience may be considered.
Experience: One year radio/audio production experience.
