Job Title and Grade: Broadcast Technician Master / SSOJ

This is technical work performing a variety of highly complex and responsible technical and administrative tasks related to the operation and maintenance of the broadcast transmission of a television station.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Inspects, services, and maintains all broadcast equipment including transmitters; ensures that all broadcast equipment is operating up to set standards.
Takes and records any required calibration or meter readings; fills out any informational reports.
Initiates purchase order requisitions for parts and equipment; contacts suppliers for information regarding price and availability.
Performs shipping and receiving functions for department; ensures orders received are accurate.
Maintains parts inventory; monitors and reorders as necessary.
Trains employees in all aspects of Broadcast Engineering; serves as resource on technical questions.
Performs duties of other employees on an as needed basis.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of computer and applicable software.
Expertise in digital and analog electronics assembly and maintenance.
FCC Operators License.
Good organization and time management skills.
Problem solving skills.
Ability to exercise independent judgement.
Education: Associates degree in telecommunications or closely related field.
Combinations of related education and experience may be considered.
Experience: Three years broadcast engineering experience.
Registration: FCC General Radiotelephone Operators License
