Job Purpose

This is administrative and clerical work performing a variety of responsible and moderately complex tasks related to maintaining the inventory of capital assets.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

Oversees the inventory of capital assets for all campuses; develops and distributes reference materials and forms regarding capital asset inventory to appropriate offices and communicates any changes of procedures to the appropriate capital asset representatives.

Coordinates, schedules, and monitors the physical inventory process for all campuses.

Ensures that inventory certification forms are completed signifying the completion of the each department’s inventory.

Generates reports and recommends improvements in reporting process.

Identifies and provides support for end users of CAMS; receive and respond to user requests for access to CAMS data.

Coordinates and schedules staff training; creates training materials; conducts training sessions and presentations.

Performs random spot audits to maintain, track and account for capital assets.

Suggests enhancements to the inventory process to improve accuracy and efficiency.            

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of asset based accounting/bookkeeping procedures.

Knowledge of computer data base, spreadsheet, and query software.

Excellent communications skills.

Excellent problem solving skills.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Ability to travel to other campuses.

Ability to maintain good physical agility.

Minimum Requirements

Education: Associates degree in accounting or closely related field.

Experience: Three years of accounting or related experience. 
Combinations of related education and experience will be considered.

Licenses:  Valid Driver’s license and ability to be insured by Indiana University
