Performs production support activities related to the receipt of print job orders. Maintains job files and provides customer support.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Creates database files and production job tickets for print orders; enters print job specifications and production details into system.
Assists customers with questions and problems regarding print job orders; assists with digital file transfers and PDF file conversions.
Provides customer advice regarding basic page layout and assists with formatting problems or concerns.
Responds to phone or walk-in inquiries; answers questions and refers to appropriate individual.
Contacts couriers for special pickup and delivery needs.
Performs other office support work such as answering phones, monitoring departmental email account, collecting and distributing office mail, processing payments and billings, filing, etc.
May provide backup to other production areas including the operation of high speed digital printers and small bindery equipment during peak periods.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
Knowledge of computers and database/word processing/spreadsheet software.
Knowledge of standard office procedures and equipment.
Ability to perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently.
Ability to work with a wide range of people.
Good communication, organizational and customer service skills.
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Experience: One year customer service experience in the printing/duplicating industry.
