Job Title and Grade: Cash Receipts Teller / SSOF

This is clerical work performing a variety of record keeping tasks related to the reconciliation of cash receipts for the transactions of the various departments and services of the campus.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Receive and reconcile all cash receipt vouchers (CRV's) with currency and complete required validation.
Process and validate CRV's for the daily work of Tellers and for batched payments.
Process all checks and currency using cash reconcilement equipment.
Verify and process CRV's for all advance deposits and maintain record of activity on daily balance sheet.
Prepare twice daily deposits of all University receipts; audit balances for accuracy and ensure that adequate levels of cash are available for daily functions and peak period processing.
Prepare deposits for check cashing services in the Halls of Residence and the IMU Bookstore.
Process teller balance sheets and reconcile teller cash drawers to proper working cash total; reimburse teller drawers for overages and shortages; maintain records of fluctuations in drawers and funds required to balance and immediately report occurrence to the Teller Supervisor.
Advance funds to departments and tellers for petty cash, special events, peak processing, and emergencies; approve and complete advance funds paperwork and forward to Financial Management Services; maintain records of outstanding advances and update as funds are repaid.
Train University personnel in deposit procedures; provide consultation; distribute secured bags to new users or replace as required for use in receiving deposits via IUPD; maintain adequate inventory levels.
Arm and disarm security system at the start and close of each business day; respond to calls from IUPD regarding after-hours alarms.
Assign tasks to any assigned support personnel and review work.
Assist all auditors in annual reviews of the operation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of standard teller/cash handling techniques.
Knowledge of cash drawer reconciliation and deposit procedures.
Good math skills.
Good keyboarding skills
Ability to accurately handle large sums of cash and record details.
Education: High School diploma or GED.
Experience: Two years of teller experience.
