This is administrative and clerical work performing a variety of non-routine tasks related to the daily operations of store facility.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Oversees cash control operations; reconciles cash count with sales figure; processes charge card receipts; prepares bank deposit; and ensures registers have adequate cash for operations.
Monitors and assists with auditing of individual registers.
Assists with supervision and training of cashiers; serves as informational resource person to other staff.
Assists customers; answers informational inquiries; assists in register operation ringing up sales on an as needed basis.
Monitors and maintains inventory levels of merchandise; assists with ordering of stock.
Compiles data for, and assists in preparation of, any needed sales, inventory, or employee reports.
Oversees preparation of floor displays and posting of signs.
Monitors stock areas to ensure that sales items are in correct location and are properly tagged.
Maintains supply inventory; reorders as necessary.
Monitors equipment condition to ensure it remains in working order.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge and familiarity with standard office equipment.
Knowledge of cash drawer control and bookkeeping procedures
Problem solving skills.
Good communications skills
Ability to work well with wide range of people.
Ability to perform detail oriented work.
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Experience: Six months sales clerk experience.
