This is technical work in video or motion photography and editing.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Performs video recording of events such as classroom presentations, ceremonies, athletic competitions and other activities. Determines technical requirements and sets up equipment.
May coordinate and supervise the activities of support personnel. Evaluates requests for services; schedules and assigns personnel for recordings.
Maintains video, audio and video duplication equipment. Reviews advances in equipment and recommends equipment upgrades and replacement.
Organizes all supplies, equipment and logistics for assigned events.
May produce and edit special programs; utilize computer graphics and editing software to create special features, animations, etc.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of standard and non-standard photographic and videography practices, materials, processes and equipment.
Knowledge of a wide variety of events and live action video recording techniques.
Ability to use ingenuity, resourcefulness and imagination in taping and using equipment to obtain varied results.
Ability to work well in fast-paced, quickly changing, high-pressure situations.
Ability to establish and maintain satisfactory working relationships with others.
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Experience: Two years technical experience in video recording or video production.
