Applicant Support Form
The Applicant Support Form is a form that an applicant completes and submits to receive assistance with an issue or question related to applying for a staff/temporary position at Indiana University.

Application Received
An applicant status of Application Received indicates that the applicant’s application materials have been successfully submitted.

Application Received – Under Review by Department
An applicant status of Application Received – Under Review by Department indicates that the applicant’s application materials have been successfully submitted and have advanced to the hiring committee for review.

Application Received – Under Review by HR
An applicant status of Application Received – Under Review by HR indicates that the applicant’s application materials have been successfully submitted and are being reviewed by Campus HR.

Application Withdrawn
An application status of Application Withdrawn indicates that the applicant has withdrawn their application materials and is no longer an active candidate for the position.

Bookmark this Posting
The Bookmark this Posting link is a feature that allows applicants to save a posting for later review.

Close Date
The Close Date field reflects when the job posting will close. Note: The posting will close at 11:59pm Eastern time of the chosen Close Date.

Cover Letter
A Cover Letter is a letter that accompanies a resume and introduces the individual to a potential employer and can be used to showcase specific skills and qualifications for the job applied to. A Cover Letter can be uploaded in the Your Documents section on the Home page of the account and, in some instances, is a Document Needed to Apply in an application.

Demographic info
The Demographic info portion of the applicant profile is a voluntary page for applicants to disclose demographic information including gender, ethnicity, race, veteran and disability status.

Documents Needed to Apply
The Documents Needed to Apply portion of the application indicates the documents the applicant will need to include when applying for a position. Documents may either be required or optional.

Does Not Meet Minimum Qualifications
An applicant status of Does Not Meet Minimum Qualifications indicates that the applicant’s application materials are not advanced to the hiring committee for review. (Reasons could include: Limited to IU Staff, Application Incomplete, Lacks Minimum Qualifications)

Draft – Application Not Received
An applicant status of Draft – Application Not Received indicates that the applicant’s application materials have not yet been successfully submitted. In order to submit, the applicant will need to complete the final step of the application process by clicking Certify and Submit.

Filled
An applicant status of Filled indicates the final step in the hiring process; the vacant position has been filled.

FLSA
The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) portion of the job posting indicates the overtime pay status of the position. Non-exempt refers to a position that is eligible for overtime; Exempt refers to a position that is not eligible for overtime.

Hired
An applicant status of Hired indicates that the applicant has been hired into the position.

Interviews in Process
An applicant status of Interviews in Process indicates that the interview process has begun for the position.

IU Appointed Staff Only
A position that indicates IU Appointed Staff Only means that only IU Appointed Staff and Academic employees are eligible to apply. 

IU Employees Only
A position that indicates IU Employees Only means that only IU Staff, Academic, and temporary/part-time employees are eligible to apply.

Letter of Recommendation

A Letter of Recommendation is a document in which the writer assesses the qualities, characteristics, and capabilities of the individual being recommended in terms of that individual’s ability to perform a particular task or function. A Letter of Recommendation can be uploaded in the Your Documents section on the Home page of the account and, in some instances, is a Document Needed to Apply in an application.

No Selection
An applicant status of No Selection indicates that the position has been closed by the department without selecting a candidate.

Open Date
The Open Date field reflects when the job posting will go live. Note: This field may be a future date.

Portfolio
A Portfolio is an organized collection of documents that demonstrate your skills and talents. A Portfolio can be uploaded in the Your Documents section on the Home page of the account and, in some instances, is a Document Needed to Apply in an application.

Posting Closed
A position that indicates Posting Closed means that the posting is no longer being advertised on the website and is no longer accepting applications.

Posting Number
A Posting Number is a unique identifier assigned to a particular posting. A Posting Number is in the form of five numbers followed by the letter P (i.e. 12345P).

Reference List
A Reference List is a list of professional references, typically a former employer, a colleague, a client, a vendor, a supervisor, or someone else who can recommend the applicant for employment. A Reference List can be uploaded in the Your Documents section on the Home page of the account and, in some instances, is a Document Needed to Apply in an application.

Resume
A Resume is a document used by an individual to outline education, work history, and professional skills. A Resume can be uploaded in the Your Documents section on the Home page of the account and, in some instances, is a Document Needed to Apply in an application.

Salary Grade
The Salary Grade is a pay level within a salary plan, which can be in the form of an alphabetical or numerical level and is assigned to a group of jobs that closely match the distinguishing characteristics of the position.

Salary Plan
The Salary Plan is a pay structure consisting of a series of grade levels and related salary ranges established for all jobs within a particular employee functional group.

SS/CL = Support Staff
TE = Technical Staff
SM = Service Staff
PAE/PAO/PAU/PAS = Professional Staff
HR/HS = Temporary/Part-Time (no benefits)
GS = General Supervisor
LE = Law Enforcement
NA/NU/PN = Medical Assistant, Nursing Staff, Licensed Practical Nurse
RS = Research Technician

Salary Range
The Salary Range is the range of salary, from lowest to highest, that will be offered to the incumbent upon being hired for the position.

Supplemental Materials
Supplemental Materials are additional documents for applicants to attach to an application under Documents Needed to Apply (i.e. professional writing, licenses or certifications, website content, etc.). Supplemental Materials can be uploaded in the Your Documents section on the Home page of the account and, in some instances, a Document Needed to Apply in an application.

Supplemental Questions
Supplemental Questions are screening questions added to a posting for applicants to answer during the application process and assist in the reviewing and screening of applicants. Note: Questions can be marked as optional or required.

Transcripts
Transcripts are official records of a student’s work, showing courses taken and grades achieved. Transcripts can be uploaded in the Your Documents section on the Home page of the account and, in some instances, is a Document Needed to Apply in an application.

Withdraw Application
The Withdraw Application link is a feature that allows an applicant to remove the application from consideration for a position applied to.

Note: Applicants should not use the Withdraw Application feature when attempting to make modifications to an application. For assistance with making a modification to an application, please contact Human Resources by completing an Applicant Support Form.
