Total Compensation Statement Available in Employee Center

Many factors contribute to the compensation package employees receive at Indiana University. IU's compensation package includes various benefits in addition to base salary and wages. In the fall of 2010, full-time Academic and Staff employees were mailed Total Compensation Statements highlighting the estimated annualized value of the base salary and benefits associated with their employment at IU. This information is now available online through the Employee Center in OneStart.

The online statement includes the following applicable IU-provided compensation:

  • Base salary/wage
  • Social Security contribution
  • IU Retirement Plan or PERF retirement
  • Medicare contribution
  • Medical coverage
  • Dental coverage
  • Life insurance
  • IU Tuition Benefit

The data for the online statement is refreshed from the HRMS system weekly.

To access the Employee Center, log into OneStart at, navigate to the Services tab, and click on the Employee Center section on the left sidebar. The Employee Center is available nearly 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Resources for Departments and Employees

University Human Resources is pleased at the feedback it has received about two useful informational resources: the IU Benefits Video and the Benefits Programs brochure.

IU Benefits Video

IU Benefits Video was deployed in 2010 for multiple constituencies, has been updated with 2011 program details and is accessible from anywhere in the world via the Web at

  • Medical and dental plans
  • TSB, EAP, tobacco cessation, Eldercare
  • Paid time off
  • IU Tuition Benefit
