6i. Leave Plans
Plan Type = 5X
Sick and Vacation
Nonexempt Staff and Professional Staff are the only individuals eligible and enrolled in plan types 5X.
If the employee is nonexempt staff and already enrolled in leave plans you will have to enter them in these plans in the election entry screens. Benefits Administration will validate elections were entered correctly.
For each leave plan you will need to enter an option code. Notice on the Personal benefit enrollment form, leave plans are not included.
It is required to enroll these individuals in the plans.
For nonexempt staff, all option codes will equal 1 for all plan types beginning with 5.
For professional staff, all option codes will equal 2 for all plan types beginning with 5.
For professional staff in grandfathered leave plans (GRAND 1), all option codes will equal 3 for all plan types beginning with 5.
You can use the lookup for each plan too. There will only be one plan under each plan type for you to select.
If the employee has GRAND 1 entered on their job record in elig cnfig 4, this means the employee is enrolled in grand fathered leave plans. If the employee has HONOR ONLY entered on their job record in elig cnfig 4, this means the employee is enrolled in Professional leave plans and a grand fathered honorary leave plan.
Notice, on this screen, in the Requirements section, Elect Required is checked on. When Elect Required is checked on, the employee must be enrolled in the leave plan. If not enrolled, Benefits Administration will note the absence of elections for this plan type and error this employee. They will need to be revisited to fix the errors before a successful run through Benefits Administration for finalization can take place.
