BIOGRAPHY
Ellen Retterer was in her 60s when she was asked to work at the Lilly House, a three-story, stone-faced mansion on Sunset Lane, for the use of the president of Indiana University.
In that role, Ellen found herself serving as hostess for people from all over the world – including Dan Quayle, when he was serving as vice president of the United States, and the queen of Romania. Ellen worked and lived at the mansion for 14 years.
