BIOGRAPHY
In February, 1999, President Myles Brand presented Warsaw University Rector Wlodzimierz Siwinski with the President's Medal, the highest honor bestowed by Indiana University, in recognition of Professor Siwinski's support of Polish Studies at IU in his twenty years of administrative service, and for the impact he has made on Indiana students and faculty during his several teaching visits here.

Wlodzimierz Siwinski served as the Associate Director of Polish Studies (along with Timothy Wiles, Director) in 1984-86, and he taught International Business at that time with Paul Marer (Kelley School of Business). He completed his second, final term as Rector of Warsaw University that semester (1999), after a number of terms in service to his university (earlier, as Director of the American Studies Center, and then, Vice Rector for International Programs).
